Windows Defender

as a former user of MS antispy beta, I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed. Not only by the fact that Defender has not detected a single piece of spyware on my computer since I've been using it, but also by the fact that some features from MS antispy are just gone. No more editing of the host file, no more restoring the default settings of Internet Explorer ( probably because the final version came out before the release of IE7),no more detection of changes in activeX add-ons, or in browser helpers, no file analyser anymore, no usage tracks eraser anymore...this software just became boring! But the ability to subscribe to Microsoft Spynet, and 99% of info requested there coming back with a "not available" sign of welcome, yes, this feature is there. I don't mind Microsoft, to a certain extend...here is anyway the link, in case you'd be interested. The integration of Defender in Vista might be a good thing, though. MS anti-spyware and anti-virus solutions (see Windows OneCare) appear to me as pretty basic. I'd rather stick to third party products in that case, not to mention that many of them are free, and really good products.

As am I, I completely removed Windows Defender, it is no good at its detection. Microsoft really did a horrible job on this one.
