the idea...

the idea for this blog came from having been involved in the Comodo Forum for a while now. Just thought that it was time to make my own, not that I'm rejecting any other forum on the web, but that I want to make one that's open to different softwares. I'm not gonna advertise any company here, nor will I advertise OpenSource software. Just want to speak about stuff that is available, stuff that I use, stuff that others might want to use too. I'd like to hear too about new ideas, new ways to deal with computer security. For instance HIPS is on it's way. With software like Spyware Terminator, System Safety Monitor, CyberHawk or in a near future the 3.0 version of Comodo Firewall, a new era begins...

I also think that the future is HIPS in some kind of way.
I have Spyware Terminator installed, but I haven't used the HIPS function in it so much.
Like you said, Comodo v.3 of the firewall will have a full HIPS in it. I would guess that we have to wait until April or May before we can try it out. Comodo have said that they are going to release it in Mars I think, but there are always delays... ;)

Good luck with your blog!

Aowl is here as well, there goes the neighborhood ;) I use ST's hips and it works very well, sometimes too well, lol. Install something and anything that has an installation will be popping up but that's the price we pay[or don't pay in this case] for protection. CFP 2.4 still won't work for me so if 3 doesn't either, then i'll be soon looking for another firewall. I just got rid of Fix it utilities 7 as they are nothing more than a glorified software now, used to be great. After 7 years I feel I lost a digital friend but got my money back at least.

I use Anti Vir now and some other tools I got free from Vnunet, "thanks to Justin" for posting that site in Comodo. Justin squirms his way so much around the www, that when I ran my antivir, it brought up JUSTIN as a new worm.;)

Justin, if you aren't headed for greatness in this life, NO ONE is, I seriously mean that.
