comodo anti-virus
I really do not advise this product. As far as I'm concerned. the only interesting software made in Comodo is the firewall, it is bugged, but it is very interesting. Back to the anti-virus: I've never been able to see it running. Although I read loads of bad reviews about it on the web, I decided one day to try it. Installation issues, and then problems to reboot. had to go to "last known good configuration" in XP boot menu to get my system running again normally. Could reproduce that cycle 2 or three times. and just gave up. Don't try it as long as it is in beta. I'm talking about the 2.0 version. The 1.0, well, it's a 1.0 and it deserves it's name.
If you're looking for a free anti-virus solution, you'll be better off with AVG from Grisoft or Avast from alwil. By the way AVG offers now a really fantastic anti-spyware program. It is partly freeware, you'll find it on the same page as the anti-virus. More on AVG anti-spyware later in this blog.
quick update: the 1.0 version of comodo anti-virus is actually a 1.1 version, and it is also a beta. Forgot also to say that the 2.0 version integrates a minimal HIPS...(?)

Hi,
Interesting read. And yes most of it is true, for now anyway. Comodo Antivirus is in its beta and still has bugs to be worked out, but Comodo is getting better. Although at the moment I only recommend avast! as an Antivirus solution I highly recommend Comodo's Firewall.
As for AVG Antispyware, it is just Ewido but re-branded to AVG Antispyware due to Grisoft acquiring Ewido Networks.
